Yes, time for a description of me. I grew up in Cross River, NY. Went to high school at John Jay, and graduated in 1999. From there I went to college ultimately at the University at Buffalo. I graduated in college in 2003 with a BFA in Computer Arts. While not what I initially thought it was, it allowed me to get into the field of web development. Out of school I started a job at Leisure Living - a pool supply company, maintaining their website. There's really only so far you can go though, focusing on one single website. So I started looking for another job. I found one with Praxnet, Inc. a growing web development company. Praxnet was a nice change of pace, I was primarily just designing, while my boss did most of the Web Development portions. After about a year and a half however, family issues required my boss to move to Texas. Praxnet, Inc. was then sold to Globalquest Solutions - a company that her husband worked at. The move introduced me to a larger company that does an assortment of technology related services, and aquiring Praxnet allowed them to expand their offerings. So here I am at Globalquest Solutions, doing web design and development. |

Divessence.com was born in 2003 initially as a web project for a class. It was my very first real website, designed entirely by me, and all things considered - it was pretty primitive and clunky to update. The site was entirely image and table based. I knew little to nothing at all about web development, usability or otherwise. The site accomplished it's goal however. Using it as an online portfolio helped me obtain a couple of jobs out of college, and got me on my way to learning more and more about web design and development. Fast forward a bit. Probably around 2005 I decided that I couldn't take updating my website in it's current iteration. I had to rebuild the entire thing in order to add projects as nearly everything was image based. So as a quick fix I made an entirely new portfolio - not very sophisticated - but easier to add new items to it. Then divessence.com sat, for another couple years. Which brings us to today. Today we are moving webservers. Seeing as I have a number of copies of my website on the old server, all of which I'm not entirely happy with, rebuilding it seemed to be the way to go. So here we are, and here's the new Divessence.com Chances are I'll finish this and ignore it for another couple years, but at least it's getting a little attention now right? |

Well here we are. With moving our webservers I decided that divessence.com was currently too old, outdated, and clunky to bother transferring over. So Joomla away. I'll be adding/reorganizing and updating this website now and again, but i figured rather than build another clunky website, why not try something new. Keep in mind the content of this website has not been updated. Infact, some of it i didnt even bother to transfer over. I suppose in time I will be adding new stuff, but for now, you get what you get. |
