Hi all you race fans out there,

What a week Pete had. On Monday afternoon there was a woodchuck in our yard. Pete hit it with the rake. Unfortunately he didn’t kill it. It ran away with Pete chasing it as he slipped and fell he put his had down to brake his fall. By the time Laurie got home he had thought he sprained it. After dinner they went down to the emergency room. They x-rayed it, and told him to go see an orthopedic. He went the next day. They can’t see a brake so now he has to go for an MRI. The doctor put him in a cast. It’s his left hand.

So on to racing. We go racing we are in the third race of the evening. They get the first Pure Stock Race in and one Pro Stock Heat race when it starts to rain. It didn’t rain for two long. The rain did cool it off as it had been 90 + Hot, Hazy and Humid before.

So we have about a two hour rain delay once again. They don’t run any of the heat races for the upper divisions. We start 12th out of 15 cars. We don’t do very well. Pete had a hard time steering the car with one hand. We will have to see what we can do about that.

We finished 10th, which all things considered wasn’t too bad.

Until next week have a good one.

Hi all you race fans out there,

As you know last week we had a very bad crash. We worked on the car all week. Needed to change the following. Radiator, water pump, fan, (need to build a new fan shroud and a bent pully. We didn’t finish the above until 3pm on Saturday afternoon. We have a two and a half hour drive to the track, 100 miles one way.

So off we went. We arrived at the track at 5:15 pm. We missed our warm ups and as a result of being late we were put at the end of our race as the line up had already been done.

There were several cautions in our race, but none of them involved us. We finished in 5th place in our race. This puts us back one spot in the points to 5th place.

Then at the end of the night there was the Boomers 2o lap performance race for cash. Twenty one cars going twenty laps. They took the first seven cars from each Pure Stock Race. They should do this ever night as it makes for better racing.

We started 18th out of 21 cars. By the second lap we were in 12th spot when a caution came out. By the 4th lap we were in 8th place when another caution came out. By the 6th lap we had moved up to 3rd place. It was a battle between Phil Wood who was leading in the 82 and Al Relyea in the 14th wh0 was in 2nd place. In lap seven we had passed both Phil and Al when a caution came out and the track put us back to second place. Then Pete mad a mistake. He over drove the car coming out of turn four and lost control of it and spun around. This put us back at the rear of the pack in 12th place once again with only 5 laps to go. We made our way back up to 7th place for the finish, but when the three cars where together what a race they put on. There was no bumping and hitting trying to take the other car out, it was truly racing. The three of them put on a show and showed the crowd what racing is all about, that three cars could run that close and not run into each other and put on an exciting race.

Tech had fun, they found at least 12 cars with illegal carbs and 2 with spring spacers. It should be interesting next week. Until then have a good one.

Hi all you race fans out there,

When we got to the track it was raining this time the rain delay was held out in the parking lot. Around 4 pm they let us into the pits.

We didn’t start warm ups till after 5:30 pm.

We were the first pure stock race out this evening. It was the first race out. Although the track was better then last week, it was still a mess down low.

We started in last place once again. By the fourth lap Ed Hatch in the 50 who had banged us around several times on the track during the race, while we were coming down the back straight away started to come down on the inside of us. Pete started to cut down when he felt the car he straighten out then Ed cut up into us. Pete put the break on as Ed drove over the front end of our car spinning us out and then he hit us head on.

Not sure what damage, but it could be frame, the radiator is toast. Have to check out all the front end parts to see if they are ok or if they need replacing.

We finished 15th. We are now down to fourth in the points.

Till next week have a good one.

Hi all you race fans out there,

Well it wasn’t a good night for racing. We started out the evening with a 3 hour and 4 minute rain delay. If we weren’t having fireworks this evening I think the races would have been canceled.

Needless to say the track wasn’t great. There was one racing groove. It was wet up high and it was wet down low. We didn’t start the first race until after 9pm.

We started in 14th place and finished in 10th. We are still first in points but by only 2 points to Phil Wood in the 82. Al Relyea was spun out in the last lap he is in fourth place.

Till next week have a good one.
